Hello to all!
As we look towards week six of our physically isolated existence, I hope and pray that the Lord would strengthen us and give our families endurance. Patience may feel like it’s running out and emotional threads might start to snap, but our God is constant and sovereign and his grace covers us when family life seems to fray at the edges. “I’m sorry” seems to be playing on repeat at our house.
So what comes next in the story? Last week we left Adam and Eve alone and destitute, kicked out of the garden. It would be so nice if we could just jump straight to Jesus, but God’s plan for his big rescue was different. Over the course of the next thousands of years, God continued to interact and deal with his creation. We learn about God’s interface with the world all throughout the old testament. We see the effects of sin in a host of characters and stories. Yet even with each character and with each story we understand more of God’s wonderful character. This week let’s look at two important formative stories: Noah and Abraham. Both men chosen by God for specific purposes, both dealing with sin in their own lives and in those around them. God reveals his faithfulness and consistency to both!
I. Where to find the stories
II. Parenting Resources
As we spend what seem like endless amounts of time (without breaks) with our children, tensions may seem to rise both on behalf of parents and children. I found this article a helpful reminder to myself as I parent and shepherd our kids through this crazy time!
